RainbowYOUTH’s rights
When RainbowYOUTH has a space or event that is open to its members and/or the public, (e.g. a group, the RY drop-in centre, an education session or an event), there are rights that we can exercise in order to maintain the values and safety of our organisation, and those of others:
- We expect all people attending or participating to:
- Follow standard New Zealand law, and/or any relevant laws/rules of the location/venue we are in.
- Practise respect for others, including but not limited to, their names, pronouns, associations, and/or opinions.
- Demonstrate respect for RainbowYOUTH as an organisation, our reputation, facilities, policy, processes and representatives.
- Follow any reasonable direct request from a RainbowYOUTH representative.
- We will ask people to leave if they can not meet the above expectations.
- We will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of RainbowYOUTH’s representatives and members.
- As an organisation, we prioritise the use of our limited resources, based on a combination of level of need and fairness to all members.
- We may refer individuals/groups on to other appropriate support organisations where we are not able to meet the needs of the individual/group.
*A Representative of RainbowYOUTH is defined as staff, group facilitators, board members and other volunteers who are acting in a formal capacity for the organisation.
